John Kerry

On Halloween, all types of idiots and half wits come out from the woodwork and seem to be everywhere. Yup, that’s right, John Kerry made an appearance at a left wing hippie college in California and gave a speech on education. But what he said was completely out of line. In a nutshell, he stressed the importance of education saying that if you take your classes seriously, and do your homework and make an effort to be smart, you will make something out of your life and if you don’t you will get “stuck in Iraq.”

I have more respect and admiration for the men and women who have the courage to serve our country than for anybody that has a degree. It takes a much bigger person to be willing to die for his country than it does to drink mocha lattes and show up to class for 4 years. What John Kerry said is a slap in the face to all the men and women who have served, and who are selflessly serving our county, as well as to their families. I have my big brother and a really good friend over there right now and they have made more of themselves than I ever can with a piece of paper saying I’m educated. I feel personally offended by what John Kerry said, as well as outraged as an American. Even if you don’t support the war, support the troops. It’s not their fault they are over there, they are doing their job and we should be grateful there are heroes like that to protect us and our way of life. John Kerry is a disgrace to this county, and a traitor. It’s as simple as that.

The problem is, ultimately, you can't support the troops and not the mission.

Am I supposed to support my wife as a mother, but not the way she's raising the kids? At some point you have to decide-- on which side do you stand?-- which is what no liberal wants to do.

They want to stay aloft in a nuanced gust of wind, dancing above the agonizing consequences of decision. But despite their theories of semiotics and their disdain of objective truth, reality has a way of forcing its way into any conversation. They can not hide forever what they try to hide from even themselves.

Good rant, lil B-Cack.

A4G,
How 'bout people just refrain from attacking them. I don't even care if people support the troops. I just don't want them undermined at every turn.

OT, but doc, you got mad at me when I didn't tell you about the last flame war. There is an on-going flame war at Shoot A Liberal.

And I agree with y'all. What strikes me as funny is the fact that even if Kerry was talking about Bush, Bush made better grades than Kerry. That's just hilarious to me.

Bottom line: Elitist lefties think we're all idiots, and that they can say whatever they want, and we won't know any better. How dare we challenge the likes of John F'n Kerry?

This is the problem with the draft. All you get is ne'er do wells and criminals. It's despicable that the GOP is forcing the stupid to go off to war.

What's that? There is no draft? Most of our armed forces are more intelligent and well-rounded than any college toad?

Hmm . . . never mind.

DPT,

Moonbats can't shut up, because if they did, how would we knuckledraggers be enlightened by their amazing, thoughtful, and completely original insights?

Try to be a little less hypocritical. Whatever Kerry's intentions his comment would have to go quite a ways to compare with Bush's recent heartless statement that in the history books all the death and destruction in Iraq (including American troops killed) will amount to "just a comma". Now this was the commander-in-chief of your beloved troops speaking, not some senator from Massachusetts. And where in the hell was the outrage from the Republicans and the uniformed military over THAT? Hmmmm? Nothing but silence and crickets chirping. So in sum, as Dick Cheney would say, "Go fuck yourself".

Your quote seems to only be 3 words. Do you have a link so I could muster indignation or are you just going to fly by with inuendo about what you think I would do?

Annon. was "realist" on Ssssteve's blog. Must be spreading it's view to all the blogs! Someone tell it to keep it to itself.

Anon- whereas Bush is most likely correct (example to look at: Vietnam is considered a small war, and we lost 58,184 US Military; whereas this war in Iraq we have lost to date 2,837 US Military - putting it roughly at par with the Spanish-American War of 1898), Jon Kerry was completely out of hand by stating that our Military troops are ignorant. They were not drafted into this line of duty by their lack of brain; they chose to inlist and chose to fight for our freedom. They are Heros.
Freedom does not come without sacrifice. Our Military Men and Women have knowingly put their lives on the line for our freedoms; you and Jon Kerry both should learn some respect!
